Leopoldo E. Posada Escobar joined UMBC as a Meyerhoff Graduate Fellow in the Chemistry Ph.D. Program in Fall 2020. After completing his research rotations, Leopoldo joined the Rosenzweig Lab in January 2021.
Currently, his research focuses on the dynamic surface modification of Ti3C2Tx MXene for applications in complex aqueous systems and the design of novel nanoplatforms using 2D materials with various applications.
Leopoldo was born in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, México. Prior to his time at UMBC, Leopoldo graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he received his B.S in Chemistry in 2018.
When outside of the lab, Leopoldo works as a team member with the PROMISE AGEP program. He enjoys reading, doing puzzles, playing board games, playing basketball (or any sport), and watching movies/shows.
