Postdoctoral Research Associate

The UMBC Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has a postdoctoral position available in the laboratory of Prof. Zeev Rosenzweig (https://rosenzweiglab.umbc.edu/). The successful candidate for this position will focus on the synthesis and applications of luminescent semiconductor quantum dots and polymer dots in multiplex super resolution imaging of molecular targets in plants cells. Candidates should have a strong background in chemistry. Prior research experience in luminescent nanoparticles’ synthesis and characterization, including but not limited to transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging techniques is required.  Experience with handling biological molecules and cells is desirable.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Ph.D. in chemistry/physical science combined with experimental research experience and an ability to conduct academic research are required.  Candidates should also have strong communication skills, the ability to prepare manuscripts and presentations independently, and the interest and ability to work with graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory. A demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence are required.
