Outreach

Shreyasi presented in a workshop titled “Wellness in STEM is Possible” as a part of the NSF-CSN in collaboration with the WELLS Healing Center at NOBCChE (National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers) 2023 conference (50th anniversary) at New Orleans; September 11-14, 2023.

 

Baltimore outreach program conducted by the NSF- Center for Sustainable Nanotechnology (CSN) in collaboration with CSN alumnus, Sophia Sommerkamp and CSN Director of Education, Outreach and Diversity, Dr. Miriam Krause, with some high school students from Chemistry Club of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, Olney, MD:

Part 1: 03/20/2023 Swapnil, Shreyasi and Leopoldo along with the current CSN SPRINGs from the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) participated in a virtual panel discussion on Chemistry (as a subject and career option) with the students.

Part 2: 05/23/2023 Shreyasi along with some current CSN SPRINGs from JHU participated in an in-person event where 2 different microwave carbon dots syntheses (one with malic acid and one with citric acid) were demonstrated to the students.

In August 2018, the Rosenzweig Lab demonstrated the concept of colloids for two day at the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore, MD.
